Go Explore! - A new event mod

This mod provides new events and exciting opportunities for exploration.
Go explore ancient cities and try to capture a space ship.

New Events

Lost City
An ancient city got somehow destroyed.
You can travel there and loot resources and items but beware the danger!

There are currently 3 different "Lost Cities":
Bombarded city - The city is under constant orbital bombardment. Grab your loot before it will be destroyed.
Infested city - The city is infested with insect hives. Try to avoid them and grab some loot or exterminate them all.
Toxic city - Everything is under a constant toxic rain. The former inhabitant build some shelters to survive and store their stuff. Open them up at your own risk.

Ship core startup
You detect a neraby energy signature of a ship core that is powering up!
Go investigate. Maybe you can take over the ship or scrap it down for parts.
You'll have to kill the former owners though...

Ambrosia addicted animals
There is a large ambrosia sprout nearby!
However some animals seem to be hooked on the fruits and will defend them from intruders.

New settlement
A faction expanded and created a settlement in your general area.

Research request
A non-hostile factions is stuck with a problem and is requesting your best researcher to help them out.
If you send a good researcher you will end up with a boost to your relationship and some research points to a random unfinished research.

Prison camp
A non-hostile factions asks you for help to free some of their prisoners from a camp near you colony.
You have to defeat the hostile defenders or help the prisoners flee.

Intercepted Message
Your comm unit intercepted an unencrypted message. It indicates a nearby location where some loot is stored.
You suspect it could also be a trap to lure your caravan into an ambush.

  • Yes you can add it to an existing savegame
  • Yes the mod is fully compatible with all commonly used mods
  • Yes it is even compatible with CE - Combat Extended
  • Yes the mod is even compatible with RimCities and Real Ruins. It is compatible with ALL commonly used mods

@Lynx: might be some weird interaction. Try clearing the map via dev tools and see if you can click something on the world view. I think there is also a dev tool where you can delete a site on the world view. Unforunately I can't help that much since I can't reproduce it.

Hi, I went to the ship core startup event and killed all the enemies, then scrapped the ship, but the map is still loaded even though all my pawns left the map. Problem is it gets raids and I get pinged by the game about it.

Is there some way to force-unload the map? I saw someone else also had the same issue a couple of pages back. Thanks in advance!

I see, thanks for the answer.
I meant no pressure for the fix, since it not game breaking, just been frustrated by the most interesting: 'chalenge\reward' event amongst all included not working, and wondering on the situation around it.

"I promise I'll get around to it at some point but I can't promise when." Understandable, no rush, just knowing mod not abandoned andd could be fixed at some point is enough for me :D

Honestly, I never came around to implement the change. I have one but it is not super straight forward to implement and with family and job there is only little free time left over for maintaining this mod. I promise I'll get around to it at some point but I can't promise when.
Unfortunately SOS2 is the only mod that actively removes stuff from vanilla which I was using which is why it is the only mod conflict/interaction I have for this mod. I try to build my mods as robust and compatible as possible.

I contacted the authors and will get back to you once I have an answer from them."

So, uh, i assume answer is silence, no hope for cross-fix or something?

Is there probability i could try install older version of SoS2 in which "def you was using" not yet removed and make it work without ruining my 300+ modpack?
What ver of SoS2 should i look for then? (in which all worked OK)

Or maybe there is a way to "Fix" it manually InGame with Dev mode, after entering site?

Just any way to handle this incompatibility, without just ignoring\disabling this particular event.

P.S. besides that particular, very well optimized mod, even in my GiGantic mod pack it`s not cause any major\noticeable errors, well done.

Intercepted message and ambrosia addicted animals scale with colony wealth. Bombarded city and toxic city also slightly. The rest unfortunately doesn't. This is due to the way it is generated and to create a ceratin amount of threat. Occasionally you need some opportunities pass depending on how much firepower you can field on an expedition. All events are optional after all (except the new settlement which just happens but is very rare).

Mod is great, but the event are crazy hard.i barely just reach year 2 in my run, and the prison camp event already have more than 15 pawns with late game armors and gears!!?? really wish it scale the difficult more properly

The Ship core startup event map size is ridiculously small. Immediate action and no chance of fighting properly. Immediately in range of turrets and countless enemies. A proper death sentence basically.

so there is no way to repair the prison camp?
