A fabric torch from Dark Messiah of Might and Magic

A torch is a device used for lighting areas up. They can be fixed or portable. Even the modern flashlights are sometimes referred as torches.


I've been long wanted to put the DMG_BURN from the melee weapon scripts to good and sensible use, and Ramm.asmiette helped me figure out the particle attachment stuff. I picked the one that only burns for a couple of seconds because it sometimes glitches out and stays on the screen forever even after you unequip the torch. It shouldn't matter much when you use my accompanying script, as when you're setting everyone on fire you don't have a shortage of flame particles.

Everytime the model is first rendered, the particle effect starts playing for a few seconds. You can switch weapons to re-ignite the torch. This is also true for the world model: when it's dropped, deployed, or holstered, it is a different model every time and the effect restarts.
