Chosokabe's Ichiryo Gusoku - Farmer-Samurai

描述
The Ichiryo gusoku were a group of farmer-samurai that served the Chosokabe. And this mod brings them over, as two units, available early game. Balanced for vanilla, to the best of my ability. Available, of course, only to the Chosokabe.


Yari Ichiryo Gusoku
-Requires Strategy Of Defense researched, and a Fortress to recruit.
-Yari Wall
-Stats in-between the Yari Ashigaru and Yari Samurai
-Loses against Yari Samurai in a 1-on-1. Wins if Yari Wall is used, much like Yari Ashigaru.

Sword Ichiryo Gusoku
-Requires Strategy of Attack researched, and a Fortress to recruit.
-Stats in-between the Loan Sword Ashigaru and Katana Samurai
-Loses against Katana Samurai in a 1-on-1. Wins against Yari Samurai.


And if you have any suggestion for a unit based on a historical tidbit, that you'd like to see in Shogun, give me a shout. I'm new to this and I ain't exactly super talented. But I'd love to make a little pack of history-based units like this!

I like the idea of implementing the Gusoku, I read some informations on internet. I think that it is the reuse of existing units scattered in the farms and other peasant activities (lumbering, stone working, fishing) on the Shikoku island. Those units are true samuraï that have lost a bit of their training but still have their equipments. Their number should be limited and their recruitment should be limited at the beginning of Chosokabe rise. I am working on some modifications and play test it.

shimazu zazen jin where a unit armed with matchlocks and spears with high morale that fought during the battle of sekigahara at sekigahara the shimazu army was attempting to withdrawal 300 zazen jin detach from the main army and fought the enemy by first shooting their guns then they charged at the enemy to stop their momentum only 80 of these samurai survive

takeda kiba gundan cavalry that uses a 8 foot long spear to charge in the front of yari ashigaru on the charge but uses a sword in melee during the battle of mikatagahara takeda shingen used this unit

Oh, by the way, they are too pricey because the stats don't line up with the ones I set up statistically, and because I feel Chosokabe should get a break on price. No criticism of your work implied.

Hi! I love these guys. I came up with a very similar idea, then realized they were really really similar to yours. I was trying to just set it up so my units were compatible with yours, but yours are too pricey, and I don't want the technology requirements. May I have permission to modify these and include them in the mod, perhaps expanding to a few additional units? I would naturally credit you, and I will actually have to credit you for the entire idea anyway, because yours is a) more strong historically, and b) at least a year older. No sweat if you'd rather not, I'll find some way around it, and still credit you.
