Unit Rebalance

描述
To install:
1. Download
2. Activate

If you want to play the historical campaign, you will need to download "Ancient Medditerean for Unit Rebalance" as well (and select the "popmod" scenario on starting a new game).

Changes:
The primary change is that Heal and Recruit population costs for units are substantially lower. This has been balanced by increased costs for upkeep and the gold, iron and wood costs for recruitment.

More specifically:
Recruitment costs are .15 for population.
Recruitment costs are 1.5x higher for all other costs.
Almost all units now have a small iron and population upkeep cost.
In city healing is twice as fast.
Disbanding units via 'destroy' now causes a happiness malus as released veterans swarm the roads. Elite units have the worst malus.
Disbandning units via 'sell' now nets less gold, but also removes the happiness malus, as veterans are settled on farms in the country.
Cavalry units cost 2x the food per turn.
City growth reduced by .7x multiplier

Additional changes to improve flavor, and differentiate between factions a bit:
Non elite Warrior infantry units have lost their move bonuses (3 -> 2). All heal faster and do not have a malus for disbanding.
Roman infantry units move faster (2 -> 3)
Carthagian units have slightly lower pop costs and higher gold costs to represent reliance on foreign mercenaries.
Greek Advanced and Expert infantry suffer less malus when attacked repeatedly.

Future changes may include additional tweaks to differentiate faction units a bit more (nothing major), and a slight blanket reduction in population growth.

Anyone is welcome to reuse / borrow any ideas here for their own modding.

Hi MosulVet, I had to temporary hide this item, because it is not compatible with the latest version of the game. Once you update it, I will make it available again.

I'm not sure Steam will allow changed the mod file names. I look into that.

I'm not sure Aggressor's modding will allow you to run to separate mods together. I think you would have to change the Battle over Rhenus scenario "<prerequisities>" element to reference this mod.

by name change, I meant from 'popmod,' which was confusing to me until I read your notes more clearly.

If I wanted to play using this mod on for instance Cablenexus' Battle over the Rhenus scenario, I would simply enable this mod?

Very interesting mod. I'm going to try it as soon as my current game is finished. Thanks for posting it.

I especially like the change to reflect veterans returning home
