Hi Ironhospital, I have an idea you might like? How about a tank hatch with a windowed cupola?

@Ironhospital, AN IDEA: Maybe a Hatch with a fixed ladder to match the game ladder and maybe Digi's ladder.

One that will let you climb up to a surface. and another that extend the ladder down so that you can open the door and extend the ladder with various distances.

Would be useful for large and small grids to have this, in edition to the plain hatch so that one without ladders for those torp launchers. :-)
