Steepest Funicular of Europe.

Description

The Stoosbahn is a funicular railway in the canton of Schwyz. It connects the Hintere Schlattli in the municipalities of Muotatal, Morschach, and Schwyz with the village and mountain resort of Stoos, above Morschach. On a length of 1.7 kilometres (1.1 mi), it overcomes a height difference of 744 metres (2,441 ft). It opened on 15 December 2017 and replaces the older Schwyz-Stoos funicular, operating since 1933. The carriages are barrel-shaped and rotate to maintain a level floor surface for passengers. Construction took 5 years and cost 52 million Swiss francs.[1][2][3]

The new line has a a maximum gradient of 110% and is the steepest funicular railway in Switzerland and Europe, superseding the Gelmerbahn. It has been widely claimed to be the steepest in the world, although the Katoomba Scenic Railway in Australia is steeper, with a maximum gradient of 122%.

Side Notes

2. This is a flat version, where compartements are leveled. I will release a variant that they are rotated.

3. Disable it's regional spawning with Advanced Vehicle Options.

It can be an enclosed model, no problem at all. You can pick up same Paris model design for instance and make it look steeper, just like Galmer funicular. Paris one looks weird when funicular track is too steep

Gelmer would require modeling passengers as well, since it's open carriage, is there any other model that can help you ?

Hi REV0, is it possible to commissionate some kind of Gelmer Funicular? I have a quite steep track and Paris ones look weird. This one is awesome but way too modern for my city. Please let me know if you or one of your friends could do it. Cheers!

the katoomba scenic railway is actually in incline lift with only one train using a awinch system not a counter balenced two car funicular thus the stoosbhan aka this train is the steepest train in the world

Nobody cares, you didn’t read the description, your fault, now you are given the reputation of being a degenerate CSL player. At least try and attempt to fix the problem yourself before you complain to a creator who has more brain cells than you do. Copying and pasting a complaint is just another form of being a degenerate. My head hurts from typing this in class.

Disliked it because simply subscribing to any Funicular asset (vehicles) makes all trains in new/existing savegames to randomly use these slow vehicles on normal train tracks, e.g. in place of external connection trains that the game spawns. This wrecks the whole import/export system as it slows down the whole network automatically, therefore it breaks (this way) the game for ALL users who download it. This fundamental issue is not mentioned in the description or faq link or comments, which is my main problem.
