Probably the author retired. Usually if an author retires, he/ she will also delete the mods. Fortunately I have a backup file, as I usually archived custom maps so I could play as local mods again later.

still a bit of a mystery since the map is from 4 months ago, crossing out if the author retires unless the account got compromised and completely deleted and the map isn't available to anywhere else, the custom objects/furniture are definitely ripped out from GTFO

Just a possibility. If an author removes mods when retired, probably because the mods take spaces on the PC. Custom campaigns & skin mods usually take some spaces, though probably it's no longer relevant nowadays as hard drive nowadays has big capacity up to several TB of size.

Well, it's just bad news that there's not even a backup on gamemaps, so this campaign is gone forever (at least for those who haven't saved a backup as a local mod), unless the author reuploads it again.
