Need Help Verifying Custom Map/Mission Upload (File Structure, mod pathing, and briefing / timer bugs).
Hey everyone,

I’m looking for a bit of guidance to make sure my custom map and mission are correctly set up for Workshop release. My friends and I were able to host and play the mission last night, but we ran into a few issues that I’d like to iron out before uploading future maps.

1. Possible Mod Desync / Missing “resource” Folder
A couple of players got a mod mismatch or “resource folder not found” error when joining the lobby. After some folder cleanup and reorganizing the mod structure, everyone was eventually able to connect—but I want to make sure the file pathing is set up the right way so we don’t run into this again on other missions.
If anyone can confirm the correct folder layout + pathing for a typical custom mission upload, I’d really appreciate it.

2. “Talk” and Timer Text Bug (Shows Folder Name Instead of Text)
In the mission, an officer gives a short briefing (“talk”) at the start of each phase. There’s also a preparation timer and a main battle timer.
For my friends, instead of seeing the actual briefing text or timer names, they’re seeing what looks like a folder name displayed on-screen. I assume it’s a localization or pathing issue on my end, but I’m not sure what I missed.
If someone could walk me through fixing this—where the talk text and timer labels are supposed to be stored and how they’re referenced—that would be extremely helpful.

Any help, suggestions, or screenshots of a working directory structure would be amazing. I’m planning to publish multiple missions, so I want to get the formatting and file setup right from the start.

Also, looking for some guidance on creating the loading screen mission briefing.

2. “Talk” and Timer Text Bug (Shows Folder Name Instead of Text)

I'll assume you made your mission in the defualt map folder, then placed your map/mission into your mod folder.
Your localizations folder files will reflect the original folder structure. Take note of the "Shows Folder Name".

You'll notice the folder name in game... eg
msgctxt "mission/single/derailment/derailment/blow_bridge"

Will be diiferent to your text files.

The solution is to edit your edit your localizations texts to match the mod locations folder structure, which should be what shows in game.

I use notpad++, a free text editor to edit these files.
In notepad++, you can press Ctrl + F to find and replace text. Makes it easy to do.
