Razor's Edge is a pretty nice campaign good for a few hours. You'll get about the same with Silver Angel, Antumbra and From the Shadows, Run
Some of the new Beta stuff looks good, like Brothers to the End and Buzz in the Matrix, Operation Complex prophet and Kill-City Detroit. Haven't tried much of them yet myself.
My UGC, A Stitch In Time, is about 12 hours long right now and is due to be completed in about a week or two. It's a full stand-alone campaign with tons of custom gear. The Deep One is probably nearly as long, but the developer has ceased additing to it (it should still work however through the recent patches).
Finally check out the Let's Play videos HBS has done and see if any of those shorter UGCs they cover (2-4 hours or so) pique your interest.
One that really impressed me recently was Nightmare Harvest - the story, setting and balancing seem really well thought-out and some of the dialogue/narrative is actually pretty amusing. Other open-worldy mods that seem pretty polished are Gangs of Seattle and Back to Seattle. Also enjoyed Neverending Night, though some might find the random enemy spawns annoying/frustrating and there is apparently a boss-fight bug (which I seem to have avoided).
Shadowrun Unlimited is impressive in the way it alters the game mechanics including rep systems and repeatable runs. Some might find the early game a bit of a slog considering the unavoidable money sinks, the high pricing of decent gear and the Lone Star weapon-restrictions, but some will love it.
The Shadowrun SNES reboot is worth a look for any fans of the old console version. Personally find the gameplay structure a bit tedious (jumping through various hoops to unlock the next area, with 'zone-locked' gear availability), but appreciate that this is probably just being faithful to the SNES version (which I never played).
The Shadows of the Salish Shidhe has some impressive storytelling imo, but it's quite linear and was unfinished last time I checked.
Also, do I need to download/install anything else for the mods to work?
Though to be honest may just want to wait for one more final version, v108, before getting into this, which is about 3 weeks away. Game is 99% done but it is really big and complex and still just going through all the bug-squishing.
