How do I use mods that I've subscribed to?

I've subscribed to a couple of mods for the game but cannot seem to figure out how to use/activate them in-game. Any help?

You go in paint mode than, you click the gear where you have your slots. In the bottom you should see download and should show you all stuff in the steam workshop. make sure to click on the slot to see download.
