Notification to workshop authors!
With the upcoming patch, changes to the characters textures and materials have changed somewhat.

Some things may be broken for your items, so I advise you to check your models on nightly to see if something has changed that may affect your item.

Here are a couple of notable changes:
  • Phalanx has had the metal parts of his head removed and re-attached to his defualt mask. So you may want to adjust your mask model to compensate.

  • Pure's jiggle boned hair mateials are no longer a part of the character materials and have been moved to her default mask. If you have created a mask using pure's hair it is recommended you make adjustments so your model is pointing to the correct hair texture (the default mask).

    To do this you will need to copy paste the materials\models\masks\default_pure\default_pure.vmt and place it into your pure mask workshop model materials folder. You will also need to open up your reference .smd in notepad and use the replace function to change pure_hair to default_pure, save and recompile your model and then re-publish the updated changes to workshop.

I should also point out that at some point in the near future all characters will be getting re-modeled heads. While we will try our best to mimic the shape of the existing geometry there may be some slight changes. I would advise you to hold off on creating any new masks until the characters have new heads. And it may occur that some of the old masks may not fit correctly, especially where the mask fits tight to the characters face. The objective is to give the characters better faces.

Will the UVW layout for skins also change slightly? I am thinking of doing one but don't want to take the time if head changes are upcoming...

Note the character heads will be the last thing to change.

Yes it is possible, as the facemaps are part of the bodies uvws. Though it won't be a huge change.

I ask because I saw that a good part of Pure's UV was dedicated to the mask part, but those are no longer on the character texture sheet (or something like that)
