Decal transparency question
The goi website says pixels must be 100% or 0% transparent. I made a gradient test decal that goes from 100 to 0 and all the inbetwen values render fine in the WS tool. I also noticed that the sample decals provided on the goi website do not adhear to this restriction. You can easily see some antialiasing on the image that results in semi-transparent pixels around the edgees.

Is this maybe just way to maintain a certain look and keep people from overusing transparency? I'd like to use antialiased edges on my images as well if possible. Can someone please shed some light on this?

Great question Mr. Lambert--yes you are allowed antialiased edges. Painting in photoshop with full opacity will naturally create edge pixels which are not 100% opaque.

Although you can render full transparency inside the Workshop (Unity), there are often problems sorting transparency and it can lead to graphical glitches in game. A few stray pixels at varying degrees of transparency are hard to spot, but these are best kept to a minimum.
