I am over 400 hours into Empyrion and I can easily say it is of the best games I have ever played. But, I need some help. I too can not find reactor cores, radiation shielding, superconductors, nor heat exchangers. I have searched all of the Polaris Factories in Polaris Space to no avail. I am up to date on Reforged Eden. Could you or anyone else shed lite on where to look exactly?

Are you looking in space, or on planets? You won't find them in space, you'll find them IN polaris space (territory).

Reactor core is rarely found in ultra rare cans.
Other stuff you can by from polaris factories.

Can buy the Reactor Cores too.
Components are also lootable from Zirax Electronics Factories and the Abandoned Factory if you're desperate.

The Emperypedia states wrecks but provides no further context. Is this referring to particular wrecks (as wrecks have different types and names, eg some are ruined CVs others are Ruined SVs etc) as i suspect it wouldnt be just pure RnG but rather being in specific ones.
I assume wrecked freighters would since the emperypedia also states they can be found in freighters, but beyond that i dont know what it means by "wrecks"

There is one POI I can think of that has a guarenteed core (as well as the other parts): one of the Zirax sub-fatcions (Raddos?) fusion reactor. Not sure if its tier 3 or 4 - bigger than a drone base, smaller than a sector command (it will have a blue dome shield).Just before you go around a corner to a water resevoir, there will be a red deco continers - the ones that look like little benches that will have a core. It is low HP so easy to destroy in crossfire, so make sure you loot any discarded boxes.

There is an abandoned version of this POI, the abandoned Powerplant that will have the shielding and exchangers, but not the cores.

There's a few wrecks that can have trade goods, including fusion cores, but it's random and rare. Usually the larger the wreck the more valuable stuff it can potentially have in its cargo boxes.

Mostly. But freighter wrecks will have more of a chance for trade good loot.
Probably easier to just buy what you need though.

This is very helpful, as those 2 are the ones i need most, I will be on lookout for powerplants to do.
