Mods Breaking My Game?
I've been heavily modding L4D2 for the past few weeks with no issues until today. I booted the game and tried to play a single player campaign map, and it gave me a server error. I assumed it was one mod, but it's ALL of them. I honestly don't find the game fun without my stupid, silly mods installed, so this is really frustrating that they're all suddenly breaking my game.

something along the lines of "server forcing consistency" and then it'll list an in-game model. Even after disabling mods it was still doing it, so I had to go unsub from all my mods, and reinstall the game

Right-click l4d2 in your Steam library, go to Properties and insert into "Launch Options":
+sv_consistency 0
This option will force the "sv_consistency" command to always be OFF whenever you launch the game and it will ensure that you won't get "consistency" errors.

The error itself is because the server you are trying to join is enforcing several resources and, due to your modified resources, there's a clash. Hence resulting in a error.
I didn't know it could happen in Singleplayer since it's your own server, though... But it should be fixed from now on.

If you find this error when joining random online servers, you'll have to ask the server admin to do "sv_consistency 0" on his console (or do the launch options method) or you can just disable your mods, if you can't contact the server admin.

That's weird... i believe you had a bad mod, which messed up your l4d2 installation.
Enable and test your addons 1 by 1. If something breaks, it's probably the last one you enabled.

For some reason, mods are running just fine now, but in the future if it happens again, I'll try that. Thanks so much!
