In Kingdom Come Deliverance 1 when engaging with opponents you would often knock the opponent out or have them enter a bleed out stage (shock/trauma.) This was a ruthless but realistic ending for many engagements that resulted in 3-10 people writhing in pain on the battlefield after a fight. You had the option to either loot their bodies while their unconscious or alive, OR mercy kill them first. AND if you didn't sometimes they would wake up and run away or engage you in a fight.

Can someone make a mod to replicate this? I have the "Head Cracker Perk" mod which gives a 10% chance to knock someone out in a fight if you hit them in the head, but sometimes it makes fights a little too easy, plus they don't writhe around.

I know I sound like a psycho, but the main appeal of KCD series is the realism and down to earth reality that this world provides. We should include the awful aftermath as well in order to keep a better picture for people who don't know much about medieval combat or melee combat in general.

P.S. if I had the skills I most certainly make this mod, but I just don't have the time to learn.

I've been trying to make this mod for months but always seem to hit a dead end. There might be a way - it had to do with making all weapons act like unarmed combat, insomuch as no blow will result in instant death - however, this has its own problems. In my opinion, most downed enemies would bleed out anyway, while unconscious, so in larger fights, it's unlikely Henry would be able to mercy kill many of them.

My new mod has this feature and I’m extending it. Think KCD1 headcracker, but it’s dynamic, dependent on weapon type and other parameters. When hostile is nearing low health there’s probability him to get knocked out, hence player is able to finish them. I’ve planned even going further and tracking those kills and then giving buffs from them - or debuffs, haven’t planned yet.

This all started when I was trying to make dead people to have possibility to have them finished, but then the engine limits it, so only unconscious npcs can be finished. I’ve planned to do some lite version of this mod having only this feature but it dosent have any of the juicy rpg mechanics.

The change you want is for some of them to writhe around rather than be completely unconcscious?

In KCD2, "incapacitated" (unconscious) NPCs will often wake up (and can be awoken by other NPCs), express confusion, optionally check their inventory, and either, when spotting Henry, re-engage combat while severely weakened or run away. Incapacitated opponents can be looted or outright killed.

The only thing they don't do is writhe in debilitating pain. They're either unconscious or not.

So, you want the conscious-but-disabled/dying cosmetic effect. Yes?

Dunno how difficult it would be, but the only difference would likely be cosmetic.

I was just going to request this.

It was such a cool and realistic feature in KCD1, I really wonder why it's not included. There must be some sort of issue getting it to work correctly.
