Is it possible to make a installable item that makes ammo items "unlimited" ?

So what's "installable item" exactly?

think the lockers assistants can build and place

So it would be a piece of placeable equipment in the sub, like the makeshift shelves that the Assistant can place, but it turns normal ammo (e.g. Coil Gun Ammo Crate, or SMG Ammo Clip? Presumably you just have to place the ammo inside the container slot for this to instantly happen like magic?) into unlimited ammo, effectively giving the ammo item unlimited (or crazy high) endurance?

yep, I just don't wanna bother asking a mod's dev for a variant with unlimited ammo and every weapon mod theses days adds their own ammo, Heck I'd even settle for a app that lets me do that out of the game on my own, just an .exe that looks for ammo itmes and lets me generate a unlimited variant...

Hm, I can only think of placeable container that can be loaded with whatever you have in mind, that uses StatusEffect to constantly increase its condition. There's an item flag called "InvulnerableToDamage" that basically does what it says, but I'm fairly sure you cannot set this one via StatusEffect (unless maybe if you're using some Lua coding, I dunno).

Or, say, a container that gives a special tag to whatever it contains, and which also constantly increases the condition of any nearby item that has this special tag.
So it's like whatever you put in it gets marked for constant self-repair.

Ideally I'd have asked the guy who did the weapon editor XML for something like this but supposedly somebody's already working on something like that ?

Well, none of that I am aware of. I believe the thing you're thinking about it's rather niche request. Most of the folks simply make these things in SubEditor - they grab an ammo box/magazine and give them a "loadable" tag that allows you putting it into the Charging Dock and increase its condition, "recharging" it like a battery.

Long ago I used to have built a submarine that had infinite pulse laser that used an unbreakable fuel rod loaded into it (so it was shooting engineer's Nuclear Gun projectiles). Sub Editor itself is a very powerful tool in that matter - but if you need to change the property of an item during the actual game, you're gonna need StatusEffects provided mostly via mods.

I'm not sure how one can add an item to the list of items to make using a fabricator, is it a normal mod item or would this require LUA? I think for balance it should probably require 20 Physicorium and 30 Dementonite, plus some token amounts of steel and plastic, to manufacture. With that much Dementonite, anything is probably possible!

Oh don't start with that "balance" crap, its not like this is going to be used in PvP anyhow

That was some good irony though...

99 iron required, too! That would make it quite irony.

It was irony enough with steel, but now you're gonna turn in into some real heavy-metal stuff!
