For a hungry grinder, I can only suggest limiting its movement or redesign it.

When the grinder is active, move SLOWLY. There's a lag time between movement of the grinding area and the various parts. In other words, if you have a grinder on a hinge at the end of an arm, the arm can move into the affected area of the grinder. It shouldn't be physically possible but it is. Also put limits on all hinges/rotors so that the grind area can't swing into its parent grid.
