Query: Customisable allies

Hi all,

Just a quick question for the designers out there. Is it possible to have mods where you can gain karma and 'control' the upgrades of more than just one playable character? As in, you can spend karma points, buy equipment and customise an entire team?

I'm sure I'm not the only person who thinks that would be cool, but I haven't seen it in any mods. Is it a mechanic limitation, or difficult to do, or am I alone in wanting it?

A problem with karma customization is that If we can dictate for other criminal shadowrunners their skills, weapons, armor, stats in everything, etc. then there's zero incentive to hire more expensive NPCs. As it is I already want to save money and almost never hire or hire the cheapest as possible. This level of customization would simply make hiring other shadowrunners obsolete.
