some of these mods havent been actually updated since 2.
I tend to wait 3 to 6 months for those mods I care about the most. Many modders have lives and this game is real old. Not everyone is still playing after nearly 10 years.
If the mod is small to medium in size and complexity, it's worth going into the mod files and looking to see if you could update it yourself. Most of the games files are text based and just take practice to edit.
I've done this with several mods before. Either that, or look at how you might be able to replicate the effects of the mod you really can't do without, via some other means. I've used modded empire modifiers, given by an event that I've manually triggered via console, to gain the effect of a mod, that wasn't updated for years. It isn't quite the same but it can work.
