New DLC Map Editor

To the Doctor, Hello again. I have never tried this DLC Map Editor so would not know ! All though I would not mind giving it a spin. If it is not to unmanageable.

the .lua and .en (localization) files you make using some text editor like notepad

the rest of the files the editor creates (or you create using some outside program)

Is the necessary file the following files in your guide?

"<GameDir>\Data\Level\bigisland_03.commands.xml"
"<GameDir>\Data\Level\bigisland_03.lvl"

Any .particles files in the “<GameDir>\Data\Gfx\Particles” folder if your levels brings new particle systems.
Any new cubemaps in the “<GameDir>\Data\Gfx\Sky\Cubemaps” folder.

pretty much

it looks hard, but its not that hard, just small learning curve, honestly.

first run editor and create map, most of the files (except lua and localication files created in map editor) and then u do the lua files and localication file and then make pak file and use the tool to put it on workshop.

one thing

* is the language

at least en for english

so it would be

<GameDir>\Data\Localization\en\zzz_AuthorName_MapName_MapsNames.en

also i prefer starting names with zzz because it ensure they loaded last by lua

so it's potential issue to have it like "<GameDir>\Data\Localization\*\AuthorName_MapName_MapsNames.*” since if author name is a it would load before other files for that language and that could cause big trouble

I only know Cities Skylines's terrain party.

I do not know whether terrain party does fit XXL map editor.

world machine basic edition is available for free

tons of places to get height maps for free for real world places

try google you see lots of images

also nasa/usga have satalite data available often that they can give on heightmap

basically you are looking for topographical maps

Sorry, I have two questions.

1)Forest file is not displayed

landscape->material->environment->
But, Forest file not displayed in current tree.

What is insufficient?

2)What of file (ex.bigisland_03) should I open up in pakunpak tool?

If I want to try pak of provided bigisland_03 to generate patch file,
what of files(bigisland_03) should I open up at compresser in pakunpak ?

try bigisland_01 or bigisland_02 which have all the parts. i don't know about bigisland_03, it does ot look like it has all the files.

I succeeded in pak(patch file) by summarize necessary files in one folder.
I thank you again !!
But tree file is not displayed in forest part.
I put the file in path of your guide.
