There is no shelving, so if you have a lot of items they spread out and it becomes difficult to get to the far ones.
Also when you play online, most players don't check your inventory before buying new items.
I can't say it's a big time-saver or a big cost-saver. In the end I prefer to sell back leftovers to the merchant, I keep only 2 concrete buckets at home base.
