How do you want to create them without images, i have no idea what you mean.

You can make objects without sprites. You won't be able to see these objects, however. Generally, the use of making an object without a sprite is to perform technical tasks in the background (i.e. key mapping, spawning of enemies, GUI, etc).

yes draw your character then go to create sprite and add it in there , or just go to create sprite then new then wdith and height and draw it on game maker then create object then add your sprite , all in all yes u can
