There has been some interest in being able to mod the bot AI recently, however it's not as easy as changing a character skin or making a new weapon so requires considerable time and coding knowledge, and no doubt LUA as well. I won't use such mods that require LUA as it introduces an additional vector for problems (e.g. save file corruption, game stability problems) compared to vanilla.
I'm really hoping the devs will open up the bot AI to make it easily moddable without in-depth coding knowledge or having to edit the core files.
Does not sound different from what the AI already does, though. For example, the leak > repair order is already a default thing, so is the expedition preparation. The rest I am not sure what the author is referring to.
I think the changes are subtle, if I understood the mod description correctly, but for one it changes the default priorities of what the bot will choose to repair first if there is flooding. It made sense when I read it, nothing more annoying than a bot trying to repair a piece of equipment unrelated to flooding when the sub is rapidly sinking into the abyss!
Still, I think the game would be far better if we could change these repair priorities as part of the vanilla game, along with many other aspects of the bot AI, such as where to put things (i.e. choose a specific cabinet or a specific slot(s) the same as where the player could normally place an item), with options to make it as detailed or simple as the player wants, e.g. with defaults or customisable "loadouts" of AI priorities and routines.
