I tried but it isn't possible because the devs encrypted many functions in the game-code, which are needed for such mods. This makes House Flipper unlike other Unity games very modding unfriendly.
In the past I managed to load a house I created in Blender, but it wasn't possible to add lights, doors, pictures, etc..
As long as the devs leave parts of the code encrypted, I see no chance for such mods.

You can access player created houses/jobs in HF2 through mod.io

I don't think that's the fault of Unity... Unity is one of the easiest game engines (to learn and to master).
