A little help please!
So I have started downloading ship designs like this one http://psteamcommunity.yuanyoumao.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=530747353 (and all the rest from the same creator) yet I cant seem to see them in-game? are they a specific faction and if so does it require that factions default research tree to get them? (I play a custom faction) Any help would be greatly appreciated as I am completely new to this.

All designed ships get assigned to the ship set they were created in. From the colours it looks like it might be in the Terran ship set. If you're not using the Terran ship set that is probably why you can't see it.

You can get around that by going into options and select for all template designs to be shown.

Oh, and workshop ships you download are templates so they don't come equipped, but you will need to unlock the hull size to access the template.
