MOD question - sound file editing
I used a sfx file to replace an existing one (keeping the old filename), but I wasn't able to add it to the Extensions folder and have it work. It works as fake patch (adding 10.cat & 10.dat to the main folder).

Is it possible or am I doing something wrong below?


Inside of my silent_magnet extension is:
\sfx\highway\booster\booster hit_loop.wav

have a look at existing similar mod like awesome jumpdrive sfx
looks like it using ext_01.* file naming

If you're going that route, think you'd have to put it outside the extensions folder, where the exe and the other numbered cat/dats are. Never tried it though, so don't know if that'll work just so. Think it should.

to replace files put them in a subst_01.cat/dat instead of ext
