Maybe in the future. Would require mod creators to set stat growth rates for custom Aeros, though. Especially once we start seeing mod Aeros with custom stats.
EDIT: Don't believe me that custom Aero stats is possible? http://psteamcommunity.yuanyoumao.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=495393634 Look for the section "Asset Bundles". Custom weapons may also be possible soon.
Sorry about being late in reporting this change, but I think it only applies to the experimental "indev" build of the game. If you don't know how to access it, just go into your Games Library in Steam, right-click on Sky Rogue, and click "Properties". You're going to want to look for the "Betas" tab, which will show you a drop-down menu with some options. "indev" should be in there.
Additionally, I noticed that my suspicions are true. If you upgrade one of the default planes, whatever mod aeros that refer to that plane in their .json file also experience the benefit of the upgrades. I think one of the more recent patches now has the upgraded aero stats displaying in the hanger, which is how I was able to confirm my suspicions.
