I think that instead of using "temporary workshops", it would be great for building or other things in areas far away from the resources to have a "haul" task. This action would be used in conjuction with wheelbarrows, buckets, or sacks to designate an area to fill up with a resource, and then once the resources is moved, the highlighted area would be removed.
