Wouldn't it be great if most new island creators added more pictures to their public published islands? Or, is that just lazy talk coming out?

It's not that hard taking screenshots and adding them. They have a great guide on wikia.com. Just search "steam screenshot."

Or, you could just take more preview pictures.
