Cars in S. of Thunder mod in same class passing me on straights.
Even if I perfectly tune my car to the track, They can speed past me with frustrating ease.

Try both of the two longest gears. The longest might not be better than the second longest.

Also check the point values of the cars. You might need to upgrade some parts even if you're in the same class.
