Okay so first, I'm cheating. Not an unreasonable amount but there are some aspects of the game I don't like so I work around it. But for some reason after spending like an hour tweaking everything to perfection now if I search for an item even if i now disable cheats I get the resources and everything. But the piece of equipment that i'm supposed to get never shows up. I've tested this on a new game with no mods. And it happens. So I think it's somehow something stats oriented.

Further Note : Interestingly it seems like the item assignment window is trying to pop up. I have found sort of a workaround too. You see it flash on the screen for like a second. If you save and reload your game at this point the assignment window comes up and you can give the item to a hero normally. Interestingly this bug did NOT occur during an item reward from an opportunity. Just the long search after an assault. So something between those two events, some difference must be the culprit. I know you guys don't have to balance around cheaters lime me but this seems an easy fix. Given the info.
