Hi, There are 57 national teams in africa. I want to have a prelim knockout round of 14 (lower reputation teams out of the 57) , 2 legs, 7 qualify for next stage. Next stage is group stage, add 43 better reputation teams into this round plus the 7 qualifiers from prelim round.

I tried this using basic rules to set this up and what happened was 14 lower reputation teams appeared in prelim round. When it got to the next round of 50 teams the 7 major teams were not in the group round. I expected the settings to add the best 43 teams when I setup in editor but it seems to have added 43 teams , plus 7 qualifiers plues the 7 teams knocked out in the prelim round. not sure what I was doing wrong.

So next I tried Advanced rules. For the team in the competition I selected Best National, 57. Used custom stages, Stage 0 - teams lowest qualified teams from end of list, 14 (this was the prelim round) , Stage 1 - Group stage, add teams lowest qualified teams from end of list, 43, then selected reverse list. Thn add Qualified teams from stage 0 , 7. I had the same result as basic rules.

You can tell I am getting a bit daft about this.. tried team pools, can;t get it to work. Maybe I just need to give up and get a life ... just irritates me I can't get it to work. Anyway if you got to the end of this thanks for reading!
