I've added a new mission with no end and random wave spawns of enemy fighters. There is also a chance for an enemy transport or destroyer to appear. Destroying the transport/destroyer will repair and re-arm your ship, so no need to over manage you missile use.

Subscribe to the workshop item, go into the game, then over in the Simulator menu change the game type to workshop and select the Endurance mission.
