I find it painful that you have to keep rerolling until you see a character that does not suck.
Please let us create a char, just assign some points to the skills, and you would have to choose based on this cost.
For instance, you could have 10 points, and some skills costing 6, other 2, other 4...
Negative skills could increase your points to spend on other skills as well.

Please someone make such a mod, and devs, integrate this into the base game.
