Will uploading a Civilization overwrite a Faction?

I uploaded a faction before Crusade was out. Afterwards I edited the faction for Crusade. If I upload the post crusade version will it overwrite the old version, or will it be a seperate item on the workshop? I want to to be seperate.

Indeed it does if you use the same file as you uploaded last time. It generates a crypt key as part of the filename I think. If it matches what you uploaded last time it'll usually overright the previous version. Hsppened to me with my Terran Confed faction when crusade dropped.

I just tried creating a copy of the civilization to see if it game it a new number, and it seems like the new copy keeps the old number and it gives the original a new number. And unless I'm very confused it seems that the old version doesn't have flavor text or citizen names while the copy does. Weird.
I guess it doesn't matter. I think can update the workshop file as a civilization and then upload the faction again so both are available. Hopefully.
