I think this must be added to the game. As my town grows (approx. 150 right now) demand for the wood (repair and heating/fire) increases. I don't want to deforest excessively for the aesthetic reason.

Right now I am trying to create wood supplies by cutting down trees in small circles in large forests (diameter of the circle is smaller than the forests' width or length). This way trees regenerate itself after couple of seasons. But it is really annoying to locate and organize all these operations.

+1 for this. I also want the ability to chop down planted trees. Even in their help page they it shows they provide log, sticks and fruits.
