For the music is as simple as unpack, replace maintaining the same filenames, repack. All with a simple command line. Super straight-forward.
Give it a try!
...I keep abandoning ship every time I attempt to understand the instructions, which are insane to me.
and it gets simpler from there
How do I use it?
-?: Display this help
-Expand -outdir <output directory> -refpak <input pak path> [-s]: Expands a given PAK to a file tree
-Collapse -indir <input directory> -outpak <output pak path> [-s]: Collapse a given file tree to a pak
-CreateDiffPak -refpak <input pak path> -indir <input directory> -outPak <output pak path> [-s]:
Create a pak from a directory with only what has changed or been added from the ref pak (typically for mods)
When I open PAKTool.exe I get an error message, so I can't "use it". I Googled it yet didn't find a solution, and I don't know how to use command prompt
I feel so stupid! The instructions are good, I just- please help T-T
For reference, I used the gitlab link to solve my problem. Thanks nevermelt!!!
Here is where I downloaded the files from gitlab, for reference-
E:\Jogos\Steam\SteamApps\common\Dead Cells\dead-cells-barebones-master
I edited the config.bat so it targets the correct folder (I can send what I wrote there for you to see if I did anything wrong); I went to PAK folder (you said to leave PAKV alone, so I did) and it was empty! So, I went to PAKV, copied the music folder and pasted on the PAK folder. Then, I added two audios to the music folder located on PAK; I named them PrisonIntro and PrisonLoop (I overwrote the music that was there) (the audios are saved in .ogg, like everything else). I then compiled the pak using compile-pak.bat.
I tried playing the game using the Dummy mod, but there was no music. I copied the res.pak from the barebones folder (the compiled res.pak I just mentioned) and pasted on the Dummy mod on E:\Jogos\Steam\SteamApps\workshop\content\588650\1405810340, overwritten what was there.
When I play a new game with Dummy mode active, it plays normal but no music, at all.
What did I do wrong?
(normal game and custom game (without Dummy mod) are working fine)
Navigate to <Steam installation Directory>\steamapps\workshop\content\588650\1405810340 (by default C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\workshop\content\588650\1405810340)
Replace the res.pak in the directory by your own mod pak you created.
Am I supposed to remove the res.pak from the barebones-master folder and use config.bat again?
