There once was a Steam Group dedicated to cleaning up the workshop of pirated games and inappropriate mods. Those are completely against one of the stickied topics here. A lot of mass flagging was going on around October of 2016, and now it requires a lot more flagging to get a workshop submission banned.

Things might have worked better if the workshop uploads required approval before they're published a la RHDN. As of now, the staff probably don't feel that it's worth the time it takes to verify each and every workshop submission to make sure that they're modifications of games within the collection.

I hope so, because this ♥♥♥♥ is just unacceptable. These pirates and ♥♥♥♥♥♥ porn makers are probably gonna get this Workshop wiped from Steam altogether if no one is doing anything to moderate what is being uploaded.

They simply don't feel like moderating the Workshop anymore for the most part, and at this rate it's just dumping grounds for any Sega Genesis content we please.

I second this. I'm sick of people trying to turn the workshop into the next emuparadise. It doesn't need to happen anymore. There are solid rom sites up again.


Also, some of these games are either on the Genesis Mini or even games from this very collection. The former is illegal and the latter is just stupid.

This isn't 2016 anymore, when workshop moderation was somewhat active. Almost anybody can get off Scott free with those workshop uploads.

Yeah, well this still sucks and something needs to be done now because like I said, some of these are illegal due to the fact that they are officially being sold for profit by Sega and this is taking money for resources from them. Also, another thread posted about those disgusting loli SoR mods, which also need to go.

Feel free to use provided report buttons, and make sure to put clear and concise reason.

Another thing is that there's just way too many workshop submissions to verify.

Are you able to handle the moderation? If so, are you authorized to nuke submissions that are obviously third party ROMs posing as mods?

Even when it is obviously a pirated ROM that is completely mismatched from the game it purports to mod? Sega did tell us to flag those so their moderators could remove them; most of those uploads aren't even owned by Sega and they have no legal issues with removing them.

Is there a reason why you need to know this? We can and will action anything that needs actioning and reports help us with that. If it's a difficult issue a good report helps make an informed action

Why do people care about pirated games? IT'S LITERALLY FREE GAMES.
