Looks like since you based your map on Chill it is still using the original spawns. Enter the path editor with [SHIFT+F9] to add/move/delete those to where you want them. That editor view will also let you control the pathing for tracked/walking units.
Re: Water
There's a "Water Damage" option under the water tool. All underwater vehicles should sustain damage, and that water damage value should only affect hover damage while on top. I do not actually know, fiddle around with it yourself and report back. :)

Check out the community Discord if you want some more immediate help.
Re: guides
That first guide has been a great help for altering terrain and moving scrap pools etc.
I dont think i've read the second so I'll check it out.
Re: water
I tried the water damage option, but it seemed to affect all vehicles unless there is some golden ratio setting I haven't worked out.
Re: spawn points
I tried the shift F9 mode, but I found the weird colour blocks super confusing.
Also it appears under the main editor.
Im not sure how to identify gun towers/turrets that haven't yet been spawned (ie. they are only spawned when you choose a large player force).
Daystar's guide mentions the weird view, looks like you'll need to close the normal editor view after entering that path editor.
Honestly I'm not a mapper, I just hang around and pick up bits and pieces of info lol. If you are struggling to make sense of anything I'd suggest joining the community Discord. Lots of knowledgable modders are in it and should be able to clear up some stuff.
I fiddled around with the path editor a little bit...
-/+ keys zoom in/out, push mouse to border to zoom around. WASD will move your ship still.
1/2/3 will open a submenu. You really only want to use 1. 1/2/3/4/etc will choose the option.
Little white empty squares signify points (hold/gtow/etc). Click once will turn it red to signify you editing it. (Right-?) click it again to stop. If you select a point and click elsewhere it seems to chain it. Delete key will remove the last point placed. To edit a point click the grey box in the bottom corner with its name shown. A window will pop up with values. Make sure you are using the right mode depending on what you're editing. Re-open the submenu 1 and change between "edit paths" "edit objects" etc.
Bit rambly, probably not that helpful, but a start...
Maybe I'll open up Iceberg in editor- which has water, that damages only walkers/tracked vehicles and work out how they did it there.
I've not heard of the community discord. Is there a sub BZ community?
Thankyou for your ramblings on shift+f9 editor, its enough to give me another start.
There's an official Rebellion Discord with an area for both Battlezones, but since that is a generic server it is fairly quiet. The community-ran one is where most of us hang out.
