I did play with it yesterday few hours and it looks that there's unwritten limitation to how much data can GUTS cover. When I tried batches of 10 mods each, they went without issue.
This reminds me that on Steam the data limit for any mod submission (or pack) is 200 mega bytes. Hence some mods post onto Steam in 2 Parts such as the Lao III mod or some texture packs.
Recently the Author of the TorchFull mod pack on the Steam Workshop experienced a similar issue and solved it by splitting the mod into 2 Parts.
On other websites it appears that large mods exceeding 200+ mega bytes is fine such as mods uploaded to the Torchlight Fansite, ModDB, Nexus Mods and other places.
