Creating/uploading a .vpk for an audio mod?

I'm putting together a small mod for a few friends that just changes some of the tracks/sfx in game. However, I'm not sure how to go about making the .vpk file.

I have my folder ready with the root/sound/music directories but not sure how to make a .vpk file and where exactly to put it.

you simply drag and drop your folder(in this case "root") onto vpk.exe.

C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Alien Swarm Reactive Drop\bin\vpk.exe

To download the vpk.exe file you need to install Alien Swarm: Reactive Drop SDK under Steam - Library - Tools menu

I must be doing something wrong. I've installed the SDK and the vpk.exe is not showing up in the bin folder.

Make sure you've installed Alien Swarm: Reactive Drop SDK(NOT the Alien Swarm SDK). Also make sure your antivirus is not deleting vpk.exe.

There it is! I don't know why it hadn't appeared earlier, but I just woke up and checked and vpk.exe is now in the folder. Thanks!

Unfortunately now there's another problem. Whenever I drag anything over vpk.exe I get an error saying "tier0.dll is missing". I've verified the integrity of the files and cannot get the dll to appear.
