is there a mod that "dims" street (and others) lights with distance? Anyone know of anything like that?

usually the game keeps all lights super bright, no matter how far the camera is - so every street lamp looks like a miniature sun.

AVOID. After unsubscribing it i gained half time loading time (from 20 to 10 minutes) and no lag in game.

I can confim massive performance decrease. I get 4 fps in options menu - becomes unusable ingame. Does not effect game fps as far as i I can see.

I can confirm a MASSIVE performance hit as well as errors n load. AVOID!

Which really sucks as I really wanted to use the Airport Light Networks, which requires this mod. :steamsad:

Hello. Is it possible to add other glow colors to the mod templates? For example, green, pink and others? I tried to do this, but, changing the intensity settings and others in the script, I cannot adjust the shape of the light source. For some reason he is always in the shape of a ball.

Hi Ronyx69! is it possible to update the mod? i can't load an existing save or a complete new cities, I tried to disable every other mod but i had the same result.

Can you make this some lights for emergency cars props? It could be useful especially when you want to create realistic crash scene etc.

So this mod may be helpful for adding emergency lights to vehicles, but I'm worried if it will work at all. I'm wondering if it is really worth it.

When I activate this mod and open the options panel during gameplay something goes wrong. The games becomes horribly slow, i cannot scroll, select, change etc anything in the options panel. On esc I return to the games and nothing seems wrong. When I turn the mod off, no problem at all. Any idea what could be the cause? Perhaps a prop with a custom light?

I would also report the problem with the FPS. It dropped from 20 to 3 when the mod was enabled...

I got some problem with this mod since the Parklife update: With this mod installed, even on a new map, my fps drops from ~30-40 to ~1-3. Before the Parklife update, i had no problems with this mod. Luckily i didn't need it for my new city, but I thought its better to report the issue

Ok solved. It was not so difficult. You have to apply an existing effect, modify some variables and that's it, without presaver or anything. Thank you anyway

Sorry, I can not get the MOD to work. I have taken a lamp in the asset editor, I have run the script in full. It has worked because a light has been turned on. then I ran the presave script, and the light went out. I have saved the lamp and when I reloaded it, I had no light. What am I doing wrong?

@PelusoNN That's literally the point of the script, you can't save it like that, that's what the mod is for, and it's also explained in the script descriptions.

@Polarstorm The mod is now updated to be disabled in the asset editor. But I did test it before, and couldn't reproduce a memory leak, I have 109 mods, tried loading a custom light effect asset and adding lights, worked fine.

@Polarstorm I have never ran the mod in the asset editor, I didn't think of this since I always run the editor in no workshop mode, which is recommended anyway. But yeah that is advice in general, don't try to go back to the menu, don't try loading a save from ingame, don't run asset editor with the workshop enabled. Also make sure you run the presave script before saving the asset.

Vasimr and me did a bit of testing and it seems that the problem is based on the "OnLevelLoad" param. Vasimr will inform ronyx about the problem, as long as there is no updatedt Version of the mod all of you guys (who have the same problem) should do it the way i made it work (as posted below).

Can you try one more thing? Disable any assets that use the mod, leave the mod enabled, and run the script to add a light, omitting the part where it modifies the mesh name (or maybe it's the LOD name). It should work as if the mod was disabled... If that is the case, then CO changed the editor to continually call "OnLevelLoad"... There may be a flag that can be checked to see if it's in the game or if its in the editor, and if so, we can update the mod source to check for that.

it is enough to have an asset in your list what was created/edited while the mod was active, even if you don´t use it, while starting a game, the game trys to load all active assets and fills the ram, at least in my case.

Ok, heres how it works: Start Game, deactivate custom light mod, go to editor, import model add lights run scripts and stuff, save. CLOSE GAME. Restart game, activate custom lights mod, start a game place things and so on, everything works. EVERY other combination i tried leads up to CS fills up all avialable ram and game comes to an halt. Trying to reload an object in the editor ,with activated custom lights mod, also leads to full ram, everytime i have to activate/deactivate and restart the game after every step. Trying to load an asset (doesn´t matter if ingame or in the editor) what was created while custom lights mod was active leads to full ram. Maybe this is helpfull to you guys, maybe not, i´am just happy that i have found a way i can work on my stuff again. :)
