this ship is great. in fact I've started to kit bash it in true trek fashion. converting the saucer and nacelles with a self built Miranda style engineering hull, rebuilt bridge, observation lounge captains ready room and situation room. in order to build a centaur class star ship. i will be rebuilding a lot of the interior also. when i finish i will publish it with your permission as the bass is your model.

type pi "Name of ship" to see what blocks arent compatible with your mod.
awachs 9 aug. 2021 la 13:00
Revision: It will print in creative mode, but I cannot seem to figure out which block is "invalid" so I can make it printable in survival mode.
awachs 5 aug. 2021 la 17:06
I just tried to print this today and it will not. It says it contains an invalid block.

So this ship and its as accurate as accuracy can be in in a block building game can be..
Has inspired me into a grand project.

Dralin, that's great. I'm glad you are having fun with it.
Dralin 3 aug. 2017 la 3:08
Oh super cool! Thanks!
I've looked so hard for any floorplans. I'm def going to look at those.
And the cygnus site is great. I have so much saved from that place.

I've recently been working on a story for an Excelsior class. (basically a refit-refit into the late TNG stuff) If you want to take a peak, I have a facebook group/crew under USS Infinity.
I'm semi using your model to make it in Empyrion. The modifictaiton I've made has bumpted it up to a class 19 rating. hehe

Dralin, you can search "excelsior deck layout" in google images, this page has some ideas, {LINK ELIMINAT} Also good stuff on this page: {LINK ELIMINAT}
Multiple sources really/
Dralin 2 aug. 2017 la 1:15
Love the design.
I've actually been refitting it to basically the B model and making some customizations.

I was wondering where you came up with the interior floor layouts.
76561198066915471  [autor] 22 iul. 2017 la 6:08
+Janu Hull, I completely understand what you mean about D deck, some of these interior layouts might be perfect for a television show, but aren't necessarily the way that I would prefer to have them, most notably in the NX-01. i've been trying to keep that in mind more as I've gone on, in the Galor class I made much more effort at steering the build toward practicality. For quite some time I haven't been playing in survival mode, so that can be difficult. I'm glad the thrusters/RCS you added made a difference, Thanks for explaining so much.

+Starcloak, being able to appreciate the Star Trek ships at a proper scale to the player is a unique experience, I'm really glad that you and your friends have fun with it too. Thanks for the amazing support.
Comedy 21 iul. 2017 la 5:07
Oh, and I love compairing the Decks to the official Schematics and finding that they have EXTREME Accuracy to the real deal! So anything like you have already built is extatically appreciated, and I will definately use every single one of them! Trust me, I've made a Co-Op Map with my Friends and we ONLY use YOUR Star Trek Ships in them! So - as we have run out of individual ships to use - we would definately make use of Any more Ships that you'll make! (No rush, or anything, just mutual support.;) So keep on going because you have literally inspired my friends and me to "Go where No Man has Gone Before!"
Comedy 21 iul. 2017 la 5:07
@Mythra13:
Yes, that's precisely it. It wouldn't be as accurate, but you could make a room with a 1x1x1 space designed to look like a Turbo-Lift just as a Cosmetic, and then add a "Manual access section" which is realitively hidden and put stair-cases leading from them. You could even add a sign saying something like, "Turbolifts out of Service," or something like that. I've fiddled with a concept like this once or twice, but I never had the time to build an entire Starship like the ones you do. But I guarentee you that if you do build this, I - along with ALL of my Trekky/Empyrion Buddies - will Sub/Like/Fav it!
Janu Hull 20 iul. 2017 la 15:00
After a bit of frustration, I gutted the labyrinth that's D deck (getting lost three times, finally having to multitool my way out), leaving only the crafting area. I'm slowly working on reconfiguring it to something a bit less mazelike. Also, diagonal corridors play hell with airflow using the new pressurization system, so they had to go anyway. I blew out the gallery behind the aft shuttlebay for expanded parking, and upsized the door to 9x5. As well, I removed all the blocks on the path out from the door, because they were catching my SVs tops as they came in. My next thing will be adding parking shelves to the forward shuttle bay for SV storage, maybe blowing out some floors to use that cargo bay as a SV hangar, turning her into a proper carrier.
Janu Hull 20 iul. 2017 la 14:55
I've added four forward facing XL thrusters in the Impulse area, removing the two green tanks.

I have also added six downfacing L thrusters, two more XL and eight more L facing aft in the nacelles. Plus four more aft facing L thrusters in enclosed compartments on B deck.

+70 T2 RCS. She's much more agile, now.

Starcloak, do you mean stairs down through the connecting pylons? They might be large enough for something like that.
Comedy 19 iul. 2017 la 14:17
Ah. I see. I was just thinking of maybe using Stairs. But I know that that isn't very accurate.
76561198066915471  [autor] 19 iul. 2017 la 14:16
Starcloak, I did look into building an Oberth, I was ready to build on at one point. The issue I had with it is that I didn't see a satisfactory way to have it connected from the top section to the bottom with an elevator. At least that was my understanding of the ship from off the top of my head. It's two separate sections, right?
Comedy 18 iul. 2017 la 14:03
Actually, have you ever thought of making an Oberth Class Vessel? That is my second-favorite Ship after the Excelsior Class! No rush, just an idea. Thanks.
76561198066915471  [autor] 18 iul. 2017 la 7:17
+Janu Hull - I'm so glad you are liking this one. I've made a note of that section, very helpful, as I'm sure you realize. I'm also wondering, have you added more thrusters/RCS to improve maneuvering, and if so, how many? Thanks for using this build of the Excelsior.
Janu Hull 18 iul. 2017 la 5:58
I build this thing on a multiplayer server a few days ago, and just finished upgrading it to post-6.0 status. I revamped and changed a few minor things, but for the most part, it's absolutely perfect.

Something to keep an eye on, at the bottom of the shaft made of fuel tanks, behind the two wall mounted RCS units, there's a void in there that opens to space near the missile launchers that will prevent most of the primary hull from pressurizing with the central atrium open. Took me FOREVER to find it.

Good luck on future updates.
76561198066915471  [autor] 7 iul. 2017 la 7:29
+Starcloak Well, stay tuned. :)
Comedy 6 iul. 2017 la 22:46
Awesome! It's cool either way. I don't really play Multiplayer either, but it was just a thought. Either way, I'd love to see more builds by you in the future!
76561198066915471  [autor] 6 iul. 2017 la 15:08
+Starcloak When I go back over this ship I will definitely be adding O2 generation, don't know why I didn't figure out what you meant. As far as Community Projects go, I don't really play multi-player, mostly prefer playing on my own. But I love the idea of other people using my builds in multi-player games.
Comedy 6 iul. 2017 la 8:08
Oh, and I've got a HUGE challenge for you! Perhaps a Community Project to which I would add my own engineering as well! A Starbase, capable of fitting your Ships inside of it! Just a thought...
Comedy 6 iul. 2017 la 7:48
Ventalation Systems for pressurising the inside of the ship. For creating Breathable air. That would be one of few things that would make this build better! That way, I can take off my helmet and not freeze to death when inside the ship.
76561198066915471  [autor] 6 iul. 2017 la 6:50
+Neal, when I decide to go back over this one, yes, at the least I will be adding O2 generation.
+Starcloack, what sort of vents do you have in mind?
Comedy 5 iul. 2017 la 9:33
Hey, just out of Curiosity, are you going to edit the Ship and place in some Vents? Because that would make it even more outstanding!
MadMax1976 5 iul. 2017 la 1:51
Are you gonna do some interior work?
76561198066915471  [autor] 4 iul. 2017 la 13:22
Thanks, Neal, it's one of my favorite ships. Though it doesn't fly quite as good as it looks, maybe at some point I will give it up a tune up and add O2 generation. Until then, I can't imagine not having this beauty parked somewhere in my game just to be able to see it.
MadMax1976 4 iul. 2017 la 13:17
I'm usually not a fan of the Excelsior, but yours looks really nice!
76561198066915471  [autor] 3 iul. 2017 la 14:31
Starcloak, thank you for the glowing review, I really appreciate it. Yep, I'm a nut, I love replicating these fictional ships to 'real size' in game, as accurately as I can. I did the same while I was playing Minecraft for years, with real life castles. So glad you enjoy them, and appreciate the Sub/Like/Fav.
Comedy 3 iul. 2017 la 12:47
Overwhelmed. There are too many of your ships write about every single one of them, so I decided to write this on your page for the ship I like the most. Every single one of your Star Trek Ships are Sub/Like/Fav by me, and for good reason. I Love the Work, Time and Effort that you've put into these, and so the sub/like/favorites are well deserved. I cannot wait to see more of your Ships, and hope you still plan to make more. Anyways, see yah Starside!

+Gothmar Okay, if you add more thrusters, maybe you will let me know how that works out.
Gothmar 4 iun. 2017 la 13:17
I was referring to how it handles in space.
76561198066915471  [autor] 4 iun. 2017 la 8:07
+bubbajohn1500 I'm sorry to say I don't really like the changes made in the Excelsior refit. I've watched a video where the designer of the refit, John Eaves, explains the changes. It's okay, I guess. For an Enterprise B, I would've preffered the Andrew Probert version.
76561198066915471  [autor] 4 iun. 2017 la 7:55
+Gothmar I warned about the turning. I wouldn't use it in atmosphere anyway, and I'm sure with a bit more thrusters in the warp nacelles it will work just fine for a "space only" ship. When have you EVER seen an Excelsior class go into a planet's atmosphere? Hardly ANY of the starfleet vessels are seen being used in atmosphere, Voyager being one of the few exceptions, and that was an emergency.
Gothmar 4 iun. 2017 la 4:29
