I like this design, but I guess it doesn't help people who don't know which direction the arrows are pointing at (unless they are calm enough during the heat of battle to figure out that a cursor appearing on the right side of the screen denotes pointing to the right)

I thought this too, but actually my eye seems to always focus the right point of the triangle (I know my position and my head draws a line from there to the arrow). So in reality it doesn't seem to be a problem. Try it out for some days and report back :)

That was fast. My only problem is it might be hard figuring out which way the arrow is pointing. (Judging from the screenshot at least.) I'll have to try it.
