VALVe put the auto-duck thing in Half-Life 2 before they put it in Left-4-Dead 2, I believe. However, in Half-Life 2, only the auto-duck over obstacles is present. The auto-duck when grounded is only present in L4D2, and no other VALVe game, whatsoever.
