A fix, not the bug.

Ok, I've found the bug that crashed Endless 2, and it's not mod-specific. But I've included it in the mod anyway. Still, Steam doesn't update the page so I'm not sure whether I was successfull at publishing the new version.

I wish there is a workaround trick to avoid it endless2 crash.
DD2 is a lame game, so it would be great if the author update the mod

Can confirm that Endless 2 crashes, and for some reason some levels may just crash randomly but aside from that I love the mod, even with it being abandoned.

"Endless 2" causes Crash, i don't know why.
When i try to start the round it gives "Null Object Reference" error and crashes.
Lame.
Tested: It does not crash on the unmodded version.

It should, but it's abandoned, so no guarantees. AFAIK, it mostly works and it doesn't break any original game scripts. You shouldn't run into any problems with new locations as well, unless there's "DON'T ENTER HERE!" text on them.

I mean, things like this have always been free community-maintained content expansions.
In some cases, mods are sold for real money: it happens when the two factors meet each other: 1) a company (game publisher mostly) wants to profit from everything they could; 2) some modmakers are creating great content, and since they know (or sometimes overrate) their own worth, they have Patreon with the latest/premium versions of their mods anyway.
Sure, in the age we live in there are some cases of such mod markets But I think that community content - as long as it's not of a size of Skywind or something - should be at least available for free, with nothing more than a possibility to willingly donate to the modder. Yet again, it's just a thing of etiquette. I mean, nonetheless, every modder him/herself decides, whether he/she should get money for the work.

I wonder why these mods like yours is not a payed thing. I mean in Defense Grid 2 there all the community made maps from Workshop cost real money. I realy can count your Mod as a decent Expansion for the game with story, alot of maps, alot of new and interresting weapons, even new Artifact system.

Unsubscribe, then go to your mods folder and delete it there. Then subscribe again. No need to restart your PC, but it may be useful to restart Steam.

hm, good you asked. It show 2.18b when I checkbox subscribe in main game. Strange because the game had an update not long ago.

I even restarted my entire system. Those items remained the same. Also Katana still show +80% speed, Orb of Fury +60% speed

Ok now im in game. I only can see at Hermit the Black Mantle and Staff of Blizzard. Mantle still have the same Add: line without skillname and Staff of Blizzard have the STUN effect.
The game had the update, however i didnt restarted the Steam yet. I try that now.

Oh sorry I dont have that staff. I ran out of skulls when I figured out I didnt bought that. So Artifact even improve already improved items? I thought it only work on those "?" marked items like Boots of Swift.
Adding note your items is extremly good with Book of Sinergy. I use those two firestaff at frostmages and I see enemy freeze and burn in same time, very cool.

it's just -0.05% for katana, so I don't think it's much of a nerf :D

Yep, that's a bug, I'll fix it in the next update. Or break it. Anyway, I'll add multiple conditions in the same manner I did before, but I'm not sure it had proper testing back in the days.

Yes. x0.8 amt is -20% dmg, x0.6 spd is -40% spd.

Nerfed them a little, but I think for katana it's ok, I don't want it to be absolutely useless in comparison to unique items.

It's because I tried to use a silent alternative to Devour (which NOMs enemies), but, apparently, it's bugged. So I'll just change it to Devour.

Ok it seems Boots of Cinders is bugged. As I wrote below I got 2. I swapped one of the two with other character. When I restarted the game later one from the two boots has vanished. So it seems I wasted 2x Bronze Skull. :(

Well I havent got page from this perfect 3 Star mission I think. However I got pages before from other missions what was useful to buy items from library or upgrade items there, cant remember exactly.
You know how I feel now with these many cool items? Like a kid in toyshop, I want to try this, get that. :D
Before I had few unique items too many heroes. Now I have too many items, not enough heroes :P

It's likely I had actually hit the enemy limit. I can't say that the game is poorly optimized in general, but it has its rough corners.
By the way, have you got a thing called "Page"? IIRC, I had been adding them as some kind of an artifact upgrades.

One Note for this stage: The game slow down alot here even unresponsive with icon clicks when it was faster than normal speed (what is 50% as I set it on setting). Even there is alot of enemies, my PC should handle it easiely (i5 3470, 8GB RAM, Radeon R9 380X, system on SSD).

Try now. I guess, the problem was with absent page sprites

You should not apologise. We are happy that you extended our gameplay and enjoyment all for free. Unexpedly many maps with interresting paths and setting. Like those delayed waves so we needed to adopt as cant see what enemy will come next, or the Cultists waves. Some weapons and armors have very interresting setup, with tradeoffs, like +100% range but drasticaly reduced speed or that high crit blunderbuss, alot of health, but low extra armor chest and so on. Boots for zerkers and orbs for dragons.
Sad that you cant finish this mod, but many Thanks for even made it! :)

Well, I'll take a look at the problem, but I'm not sure I'll be actually able to fix it.

And I'm sorry for not releasing the final version: I've run into some map modding and old savegame compatibility issues back in 2018, and the final version was just too ambitious and with the current modding mechanics, it's impossible to simply update this mod to what I had planned. And, well, I can't say those were great ideas, so, all I'm left with are my apologies to you that the mod is left unfinished.
And, I guess, the next version of the mod, if it will ever come out, would be for the DQ2. I'll probably have kids by the time of that game's release tho...

Again crash at "Meet the Reaper" map. This time on NG+ when I just killed the Reaper perfect on hardest difficulty. So I didnt got the 3 Gold Star there, so sad. :(

Hey I just started playing with this mod. So far I like it. :) I imported my 200 Gold Star NG+ save and continued there.
However when I finished Meet The Reaper map normal 3 Gold Star and at reward screen when I paging to 2nd reward to see what is it, then game crashed. Gladly after restart it seems save not got corrupted.
