Yes you can switch these out with one another, as long as you are in the same NG+ number, the game will adjust without any ramifications depending on what mod you have.

So can Users switch these progress mods in and out for multiplayer without binding their saves or restricting joining a LAO III group?

Of course NG+X is a natural restriction for joining multi but I was just curious whether they were any other factors to consider.

Either way, starting fresh with a new group sounds like the best way to go.
