They are a wonderful bit of art that really does something for the game, This and Rim of Madness. These things need to be released to a place where they can all be reliably curated.

Bug: I cannot capture Elder Things or build Elder Thing beds. I can build Elder Thing chairs, but no beds. I'm not sure if this is intentional, but it'd be nice if I was actually able to imprison them.

The issues you guys keep blaming on har and biotech aren't har issues
They are issues with incredibly unmaintained races
Jec hasn't really maintained any of his mods since 1.2
As he shows up for a month after each major rw version then poofs again.
Har accounts for biotech
Elder things doesn't use any of those newer systemsx.

Biotech and HAR seem to work just fine. It seems like when certain mods that introduce factions and rely on HAR, they mess up how biotech spawns faction settings.

For me it's specifically this mod, not the cults or horrors. It is unfortunate, but I never used an elder thing anyway. They are genuinely too out of the way compared to everything else. I do enjoy the cult mo when I'm not using ideology and the horrors are nice later on in the game.

This works fine in 1.3. In that version they spawn in fine and only bugs occur when adding more factions which can bug their functionality/frequency, but that is expected. But with dlc and current version, it prevents the world from being able to spawn any factions starting a new game, making it totally unplayable now. Spent hours troubleshooting to figure out it was this mod.

I am having the same issue Chemplay is having. It seems the original freebie human colonist is now classified as a slave. when playing solely the vanilla game there are no slave beds. When the slave colonist falls into a catatonic state they cannot be rescued and will starve.

could a version of this be made that uses genotypes/ xenotypes instead of a baseliner and HAR?

I can't get any of the elder thing parts to actually apply to pawns when I try to use them in the xenotype editor, even if I set a pawn's backstories to be one of the elder thing ones.
Is this intended or a bug?

@Narada: I figured out the issue. It was due to Biotech requirements that were introduced in my code while I was updating to RimWorld 1.4. I've fixed it so that Elder Things should function without the DLC, as is normally expected. Resubscribe to force steam to update the mod, and do reach out to me if you still have issues.

Here I got you a log. I remove all the mods except for this one and the required for it. Same thing, it wipes all my factions and only creates one outpost on the whole planet.

Hello, I was wondering if it is intentional that when I install this mod no other factions appear on my map when I want to start a new save? The map is literally empty aside from 1 outpost from this mod, and 1 outpost from Sparkling Worlds. When I go one step back and X out this Elder Things faction and generate the seed again, all other factions and outposts are back. Same when I remove this mod, factions are back to normal (modded and vanilla ones).

A small issue - baby Elder Things can't seem to be put in cribs, not sure why.
