For anyone interested: the reason this doesn't work is that Steam installs it in the wrong place. You're going to want to look under Documents>Paradox Interactive>Crusader Kings II>mod, and there'll be a zip file. You just extract the text document and music files from that zip file (renaming the txt like Heitri describes) and put it in C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Crusader Kings II\music

lalarukh3 18. okt. 2020 kl. 13:52
Doesn't seem to work at all, sadly, changed file name or not. :(
KZA 26. juni 2020 kl. 9:15

KZA 19. mar. 2020 kl. 19:08

"No music on start issue/bug since 2.7x:

The songs.txt file inside the music folder requires a different name than the original (simply asongs.txt will do) or there won't be music during load/start, unless you replace the folder."

- https://ck2.paradoxwikis.com/Music_modding

So you just have to rename the "songs" file to something like "CK1songs" so that it stops conflicting with CK2 vanilla files.

can you make EUIV music mod, I want to import music and DLC music from there into CKII.
Old School Internet Warlord 29. juni 2017 kl. 15:01
Why does this mod deactivates music during game start and in main menu? Otherwise it`s a great mod.
Secret 18. juni 2017 kl. 15:58
It would be better if all of the songs were in text-to-speech.
Varainger 27. apr. 2017 kl. 16:03
@Opti
It's named songs.txt indeed again. Just made a fresh install.
The issue with the opening main song missing then still exists in 2.7.1 , so why the change ?

@pGmMaSteR2ouf
It only prevents the main title from playing during load. Still an issue, but not that big.
ProjectAC 24. apr. 2017 kl. 13:27
Hi ! Thanks for the music but please change the .txt file name because naming it songs.txt overwrites the default song list. I personally renamed it ck1music.txt but it would be great for everyone if nothing had to be modified. Thanks !

It's compatible with pretty much every mod, it's just added music.
veal2 11. apr. 2017 kl. 17:07
is it compatable with HIP
irishdrafter 19. mar. 2017 kl. 11:24
@Baraka Obama: If the author cant do it, If you want to you can convert Windows audio/media format to Mac with native software on your Mac, depending on the OS version. It is about a 15-20 min process. Google "How to convert Windows Audio to Mac compatible audio format." or I can whisper to you how to do it.
irishdrafter 19. mar. 2017 kl. 11:21
@ hananawan: Once you subscribe to it, it will que to download. Launch CKII game launcher, wait a few (3-5) seconds, and the mod will download . Then look under "Mods" in the launcher and make sure the mod check box is checked for the mod you just downloaded, that way it will be used when you start the game.

If this does not work, we may need to change the update settings for CKII in steam. Comment back and I will help you do that if you do not know how to.

Peace and Love to All....wait....I am a king....OFF WITH HIS HEAD! :D
Intelectual de Miller 18. mar. 2017 kl. 11:14
Opti, could you please make a Macbeth (2015) soundtrack music mod ?
notahero 17. mar. 2017 kl. 5:35
How do download this after subscribing?
Tiramisu 12. mar. 2017 kl. 12:35
Many thanks, sire!

I never played the first Crusader Kings but really enjoy CK2. I guess this is what the first game sounded like.
cniht 10. mar. 2017 kl. 16:21
@Mr. Red. It doesn't overwrite the play list. It adds it with the playlist.
Filthy Casual Play 9. mar. 2017 kl. 3:45
does this disable achieeves? I only ask becuase I don't hear any difference and I wondered if it was becuase I was in ironman games.
Darth Ginny 9. mar. 2017 kl. 3:10
If i use this, does it overwrite or add to the playlist?
Conte 9. mar. 2017 kl. 2:37
Well well! I guess it's time to try it out then! :happyz:
Z00_00Z 8. mar. 2017 kl. 21:49
Wow, I might be responsible for making this featured on the front page, I found this mod randomly while trying to find new music. I subscribed to it, and the next day this became featured on the front page. I am actually happy this got put on front page, as the Ck1 music is underrated! congrats man!
Opti  [ophavsmand] 8. mar. 2017 kl. 14:46
@Varaigner
Thanks, just read it on the official forums
Varainger 8. mar. 2017 kl. 14:19
@Opti I tested it and as soon as you rename the songs .txt file to something, so tha it differs form the original one, then music plays on load again. I assume a temporary bug. Report is done.
Opti  [ophavsmand] 8. mar. 2017 kl. 12:10
So I just checked, music works properly (both official and the mod music) once you actually load into a game. For some reason music is only missing from the main menu the first time you boot up the game, as soon as you load a game or start a new one it works as it should. No idea why though.
Conte 8. mar. 2017 kl. 11:14
Oh I see! Thank you, I'll download it as soon as everything is fixed thank you very much
Opti  [ophavsmand] 8. mar. 2017 kl. 10:51
@Conte
Sure is, it's just music :] But it seems it has some problems with the new version, I'll try to figure it out as soon as possible.
Conte 8. mar. 2017 kl. 10:45
Thank you Opti, just out of curiosity, is it also ironman compatible? Thank you in advance :awoo:
Opti  [ophavsmand] 8. mar. 2017 kl. 10:21
Music is added to the regular track pool, it doesn't remove anything.

@Consui Bevo

I'll check it out.
Comrade Felix 8. mar. 2017 kl. 8:30
Just attempted to launch with 2.7 (WHGQ) and it completely disables all music when active.
Comando96 8. mar. 2017 kl. 6:01
I don't think they care. The only time they do care is about music for which they are not the sole copyright holder of, ie the Sabaton music. Even then Stellaris has fullbown starwars and mass effect music, which are still up to my knowledge.
I'm more interested if if the music replaces the sound track, or is added to a music pool. Will give it a go, and see myself.
Conte 8. mar. 2017 kl. 1:30
Does it sum up with vanilla music?
cniht 7. mar. 2017 kl. 21:29
@Crusader Queen. While Paradox would be completely within their rights to issue a DMCA notice, I don't see why they would, it's their products within their products, assuming their own music agreements don't conflict. I for one bought both games so I got licensing rights. :D
Fernando Cruz 7. mar. 2017 kl. 16:08
Good but works on the update?.
Apeiron Bohemicus 7. mar. 2017 kl. 15:04
Nice one! :-)
CrusaderQueen 7. mar. 2017 kl. 14:59
Is this allowed under the terms and conditions?
