this is standalone. long ago, i made this mod because i was pining for the palace. cyrrino, a modder who made quite a few wonderful mods helped me get this one resolved, then he added to it. Over time, the new version became monarchy palace plus, and this one remains on the workshop mostly to give people who want to mod the game something to work with, to start with.

I advise using Monarchy Palace Plus for a more full experience.
NocturnalEye 4. apr. 2015 kl. 19:35
is this mod required for plus, or it's a standalone?
NocturnalEye 4. apr. 2015 kl. 19:35
monarcy palace plus? I think I've seen that around
Sol  [ophavsmand] 4. apr. 2015 kl. 18:55
1. no, does not.
2. "should" be. last i checked it was.

the mod "monarchy palace plus" is the evolved version of this mod.

looking at the thumbnail pic, I have two questions:

does this come with the palace and throne room mod?

and

BNW compatible?
Sol  [ophavsmand] 22. feb. 2014 kl. 21:56
"Palace and Throne Room" is the mod you want for that.

"Monarchy Plus" is an improved version of this mod.

Emperor Rob Ford also made a version.
wdurham23 22. feb. 2014 kl. 17:03

ehMGee 9. feb. 2014 kl. 8:32

SuperRiceBoi 30. maj 2013 kl. 19:06
This mod looks cool, I noticed altar was spelled alter, so if this is ever revised there's an observation
Galaxydude3500 23. dec. 2012 kl. 19:59
is this vanilla compatible
reddir 20. okt. 2012 kl. 7:50
does this, or the Monarchy Plus, require the Gods & Kings expansion?
Daniel+ 3. sep. 2012 kl. 15:30
yay so i can Design my Palace? like in Civ3?
Manius Julius Prime 21. aug. 2012 kl. 7:52
So any chance of getting some people together for a great mod. Although, I do wish Fraxis would make it for us. All I want is the throne room. I would like my advisors to be actors not just a cartoon.
Sol  [ophavsmand] 21. aug. 2012 kl. 6:16
i remember in CTP when you could take it a whole new level and expand it to a space station in the end-game.

Easily one of the most attractive features of the games in the series.
Manius Julius Prime 18. aug. 2012 kl. 7:36
I can't tell you how many times I tried to improve my throne room in Civ II. I would raid nations to making trade. I did what I had to do for my throne room.
Sol  [ophavsmand] 17. aug. 2012 kl. 20:45
that would require a lot of work with taking 2d graphics, and presenting an option of "which one" in a series of ladders to the top. Once i have the skill, it would be a nice thing to see back.
Manius Julius Prime 17. aug. 2012 kl. 9:53
I would like a Throne Room expansion like in Civ II. I will be honest that really made me work that much harder in each game.
Geno Cidal 14. aug. 2012 kl. 20:14
This is a great idea & is it all gtg yet?
Sol  [ophavsmand] 29. juli 2012 kl. 9:41
No, it does not have "Your citizens have offered to expand your throne room" splash screens, this is a ladder of national wonder buildings for the capital city.

However - i have been looking at splash screens and hopefully will find a way to implement a "base screen" that can "change" and grow by adding in new images. This will take a bit of time, i am new to modding.
Marble 29. juli 2012 kl. 5:57
Does this work the same as palace extensions in the first Civilization?
Sol  [ophavsmand] 27. juli 2012 kl. 15:36
I made this mod to reincarnate a mod that came into existance in 2010, by Tophor. While i was messing around with uploads, Cyrinno helped me with a lot of things i was having trouble with. Monarchy Plus is the correct mod to have - This mod is really for my own playtesting. Eventually, i will make "District" expansions for cities - a series of national wonders that work in a ladder like this mod, one for every era.

Yes, i am working on both mods, and Monarchy Plus is the right way to go. This mod is less developed and might have problems i did not yet detect. In short, this is still up for my testing, and eventually i will expand this work based on Monarchy Plus, keeping it compatible with Echoes of Ages. Cyrinno has a good mind and i think we worked together pretty well thus far, so i look forward to more. For splash screens, im having difficulties but nothing i can't overcome in time.
BlouBlou 27. juli 2012 kl. 15:23
your working on both mod? wich one should i sub? (im currently on monarchy (full) )
Sol  [ophavsmand] 27. juli 2012 kl. 15:22
no, it is a ladder of national wonders - i am trying to figure out how to make splash screens however, because i think it would be really fun to have that back.
Biggie 27. juli 2012 kl. 13:42
so its...civ 3?
BlouBlou 25. juli 2012 kl. 6:02
ill go check Monarchy mod =)
BlouBlou 25. juli 2012 kl. 6:02
Tease! lol
Sol  [ophavsmand] 25. juli 2012 kl. 6:00
This basic mod is just the first piece of something bigger - i do not wish to spoil anything at this moment, but its going to be pretty nice.

I will leave this up for others to work with and make changes on as the user pleases and in time, a bigger work will be revealed.
Cyrinno 25. juli 2012 kl. 5:56
Hey everyone I've teamed up with Thadian to work on an improved version of this mod combining both our talents. It's called Monarchy: Palace Plus, go look it up. :)
BlouBlou 25. juli 2012 kl. 5:36
Yup! the way civ 5 is made and integrated in workshop is really modder friendly, ive modded Skyrim, Dragon age 2 and Frozen Throne Wc3 and Civ5 is by far the easiest game to mod.
Sol  [ophavsmand] 25. juli 2012 kl. 5:27
With good people like you, cyrinno, whoward, sambc and all the other modders i believe about anyone can pick it up and add some cool ideas :)
BlouBlou 25. juli 2012 kl. 5:21
Good luck with modding! ull see , its will be easy soon and you will make us cool mods ! =)
BlouBlou 25. juli 2012 kl. 5:19
ALso, yesterday there was a Steam community pronlem. WHen you open steam and you dont see the 3 frontpage mod on the workshop tab, it mean the community is offline for now, and mod list wont update, that is the main reason for yesterday imo.
Sol  [ophavsmand] 25. juli 2012 kl. 5:13
oh, dirpity derp! that was what i was doing wrong, i had modbuddy and the game open the whole time... thanks for the tip! hopefully as time progresses i will get better, for now i am just trying to learn the basics and have fun with it XD
BlouBlou 25. juli 2012 kl. 5:08
Also, when deleting cache, exit steam and civ 5 completely before
Sol  [ophavsmand] 25. juli 2012 kl. 0:28
im a bit new to using this so i apologize and will attempt to correct errors, i will unclick effect save game - isnorden, ive had situations where my mod database has been corrupted and i had to delete my C:\Users\User\Documents\My Games\Sid Meier's Civilization 5\cache - ModsDatabase file. - if you do this, be patient while it re-affirms and downloads your mods... i will check my setup again to make sure its correct
isnorden 24. juli 2012 kl. 22:55
This mod still doesn't appear on my subscription list in-game even though it's in the right directory. I tried clearing my cache and un/re-subscribing; neither one helped. What to mdo next?
Geno Cidal 24. juli 2012 kl. 22:50
this looks cool but is it working?
BlouBlou 24. juli 2012 kl. 13:20
UpdateDatabase is the way to go =)

also if you can unclick "affect saved game" even if it is actually affecting them, to prevent save game to be locked by your mod.
Sol  [ophavsmand] 24. juli 2012 kl. 5:38
Had to fix a few last flaws, should be good now.
Kar4ever 24. juli 2012 kl. 5:23
Aww had hoped it was like in Civ 1. But sounds cool thou :)
Sol  [ophavsmand] 24. juli 2012 kl. 5:14
I just changed the problems, new version is up. In the actions, i have:

OnModActivated
|_UpdateDatabase - Civ5PalaceAdds.xml - this is how i should set it right, and not UpdateUserData? I am still a tad new...
Oirien 24. juli 2012 kl. 5:05
Looks like a good mod, however it's worth noting that Alter is not the correct spelling of an Altar which may irk some people who would otherwise subscribe to the mod
Cyrinno 24. juli 2012 kl. 4:56
File downloads but does not extract. This is probably because of the ! in the file names. I had a similar problem with my mod where I tried to use symbols : or + you will probably need to delete the ! for it to extract properly. :)
Cyrinno 24. juli 2012 kl. 4:52
♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ will take a look.
Sol  [ophavsmand] 24. juli 2012 kl. 3:19
This will be the stable version unless a problem arises - if you already have this mod, unsubsribe, delete it and resubscribe, to ensure you have this current revision.
